Last updated: 20 April 2026

Bright Sparks Home Energy ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of people who use our service. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. It is written in plain English because our clients are homeowners, not lawyers.

We are bound by the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

When you use our intake form or deep-dive form, we may collect:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your suburb or postcode
  • Your home address (Stage 2 form, optional)
  • Your current electricity retailer and plan name
  • Your National Meter Identifier (NMI) — a regulated identifier assigned to your electricity connection point by your distributor. This is sensitive utility data.
  • Details about your energy usage (annual or seasonal consumption estimates)
  • Information about existing energy equipment you own (solar panels, batteries, electric vehicles, appliances)
  • Any notes or descriptions you choose to provide

We do not collect payment card details through our forms. We do not collect sensitive information beyond what is listed above.

Why we collect it

We collect this information solely to:

  • Follow up if we need clarification to complete your review

We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, or profiling. We do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes.

To deliver our service, your submission passes through third-party infrastructure providers that act as data processors on our behalf. These providers handle your data only as necessary to operate the service and do not use it for their own purposes.
